Objective: 

This course will enable the students to -

  • Acquaint them with the layout of the newspaper.
  • Understand the layout of different pages of the newspapers.
  • Develop an understanding of different news beats.
  • Understand the importance of photographs and its application in newspaper.

 

Learning Outcome:

Students will be able to:

1. Apply newspaper layout design and design a page using different news beats, features, articles and news analysis.

 2. Sketch the layout of front page, editorial page using different beats.

3. Click photographs according to the news beats and add caption to the photographs.

 

The following exercises to be completed by the students during a session.

1. Layout of a Newspaper on chart,

2. Sketch of front page +Pasting of original

3. Sketch of editorial page

4. Writing original News Stories

5. Understanding News Beats (10 Hindi and 10 English) cut and paste on sheets

6. Writing News Analysis (individual and comparative)

7. Writing Articles on any current issue Two (Hindi) and Two. (English)

8. Writing Feature Two - Pasting related pictures

9. 20 Photographs self clicked with captions

10.  Writing about Famous photographers or photo journalists (paste their pictures  and write about them) + Pasting of photographs clicked by the photographers(2 of each)
